This is not "poison sumac" but a very friendly variety:  Staghorn.  I found the wood growing along an old abandoned railroad track in Western New York.  the log this bowl came from was just over 4 inches in diameter.  The bowl is 4 inches across and an inch deep.

Chestnut Burl bowl

Horse Chestnut Burl bowl, about 8" diameter and 3" deep.  This (1/8 - 3/16") walls make it more for art than anything else.  the wood came from Lockport, in Western New York, from another woodturner.
